United Church Women and Men's Group
Fundscrip Change
The Men’s Group are implementing a change in the ordering of Fundscrip Shopping Cards from weekly to a bi-weekly basis starting Sunday, January 8th and every second week thereafter. The cards will continue to be delivered to supporters at Church on the Sunday following the ordering dates. For example the cards will be delivered on January 15th and every second week thereafter.
The reason for this change is due to costly courier fees which amounted to some $650.00 in 2011. By implementing this change in the ordering schedule, it will reduce the courier costs by more than 50% which will result in increased profit for the Men’s Group and the Church.
We wish to thank the congregation for their strong support of this fundraising project and trust this change in placing order from weekly to bi-weekly will be convenient for everyone. If you should have any questions on this change, please see a member of the Men’s Group at the back of the Church.
United Church Women
Our Purpose
To Unite women of the congregation for the total misson of the Church, and to provide a medium through which we may express our Loyalty and Devotion to Jesus Christ in Christian Witness, Study, Fellowship and Service.
We hold our meetings on the 3rd Thursday of the month. We have a devotion and an interesting program or guest speaker. At each meeting we have the Fellowship of Least Coin.
We participate in the World Day of Service and the Spring Rally.
We cater to funeral receptions and pack clothing for Brunswick Street Mission in Halifax.
We hold an annual Christmas Tea and Sale.

Men's Group
The United Church of St. Paul & St. Stephen’s Men’s Group is an opportunity for all the men of the Church to get together in a spirit of fellowship. The group meets occasionally for breakfast, a short business meeting and a guest speaker.
The Group is actively involved in the Church assisting when called upon. Activities include maintaining the Church’s three cabins at Sherbrooke Lake Camp, assisting with general repairs to the overall church camp, providing financial support to the Church and various other Church projects.
The Men conduct two fundraisers – Oscar & Fundscrip. Oscar involves the delivering of Oscar cans in the spring to members of the Congregation with the idea he will be filled with money when he is called home in the fall. The Men also conduct Fundscrip, a shopping card program whereby members of the congregation order shopping cards and the Men’s Group receive a percentage, (Profit) on the placed orders. They are asking for more members of the congregation to support this worthwhile fundraiser. Since inception, we have raised over $4000. An average family will earn the church about $300 a year by just buying their groceries and gas under this program. You can also order grocery shopping cards for donating to the Fundy Interchurch Food Bank. Please consider giving your support to this project.
